Maximillian Importing - disappointing....

Recommended Posts

I finally gave up on Maximillian - after months of repeated calls, conversations - they would never actually ship my order - they never respond to email from the "Contact Us" link on the website. I wonder if the business is having a tough time? Sad to loose this as a trusted resource....

I've had poor customer service from them a year or two ago. In particular, they did not credit or repay me for a couple of returns even taking into account a restock fee. One item they stiffed me on was a piece of chrome that was damaged in shippment. Other purchases have been fine.

Sorry to hear that. I just had a really good customer service experience with them this week. Try to email them directly instead of the "Contact Us" section of their website...which may not get checked often.

Since there is already a feedback thread, I'll just say here that I have had many positive experiences buying from Maximillian (my credit card statements can vouch for this). It helps to be so close to their location if you need an item right away.

Unless they have corrected the long-time problem when ordering more than (1) item from the website, I can only think of two times since 2008 that something went wrong (windshield gasket and bumper brackets). Both were sent back for either an exchange or credit.

I've had good results from them as well, back when I used them. There was one time when an order didn't get filled. I think it was for small parts - one being one of the fasteners that holds the instruments in place. No big deal - not like it was critical.

I think I ordered the parts from Blunt a month or so later.

Well - a year passes. I get a call or an e-mail (can't remember). It was Max checking on if I still needed it.

The good - someone followed up.

The bad - a year? Seriously?

Nothing against Max, but I actually don't order from him much anymore. Here's my order preference:

1.) Blunt

2.) Bavarian Autosport

3.) Pelican Parts

4.) Max

#1 and #2 can fill 99% of my orders, don't give me hassle and their customer service is on the spot. Blunt has never missed an order, and neither had BavAuto. Cheapest - maybe not. But they've kept me the happiest/least angst filled.

Not to slam Max - I've spent a few thousand dollars with him. I've just found other suppliers that are easier to deal with for me.

Max is good. His website is great and informative. prices are decent.

I've never had any issues with Max. Every business will have customer service issues Have you tried calling Max?

iv had nothing but bad experiences with Maximillion Importing Co. as someone mentioned above they are an old fashion company trying compete in a digital age. my complaint with Maximillion is poor customer service and super high prices. basically Maxi and 2002 a.d. are operating in a 2002 b.c. frame of mind.

That is actually a positive for me, old school car and old school know-how are a good matchup for me. Give me real world knowledge over internet 'wisdom' any day of the week. Like the saying goes, once they're gone, you can't get them back.

I've had alot of good experience with Max over the years...not always the cheapest place, but good to deal with "especially" in the days when Wegweiser was there...."NOBODY" was as responsive as Paul.....

Aside from that, does anyone else miss Bimmer Parts? I sure do...those guys were "the best" hands down!

Just my $.02 worth!

Obviously none of you have ordered from max recently. I've had great service from max over the years as well but as of late it's been terrible. I hate to flame a vendor on the FAQ but something should be said. They haven't been living up to their reputation in my opinion. Orders are taking 3 to 4 weeks to ship with no status updates. Email inquires are not timely responded to and sometimes there is no reply at all. The main number just rings and rings after hours with no voicemail recording. Step it up guys...we love what you do and appreciate ya. We just want the respect we deserve.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
