I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mark Preisendorf. Some of you know me. But for those of you who do not. I have been involved with European auto parts for over 30 years. Almost exclusively BMW,s for over 12 of those years. I was contacted by the family of a long time friend, Curt Ingraham, the past owner and creator of Silicon Garage “improved” radiators. They have asked me to continue on the legacy of Curt by offering the same Superior Quality product and the best customer service.

What is unique about the Silicon Garage radiators is that they are exactly the same dimensions as a stock radiator. They offer 50% more cooling and NO modification needed for installation. I use a custom built copper 3 row core, attached to O.E.M. BMW Solid Brass top and bottom tanks. They also come with an “Original BMW” new radiator cap, overflow hose and all mounting hardware.

The radiators are once again available. I have them in stock ready for shipping. Best of all the pricing will remain the same.

If you or someone you know needs a radiator upgrade, please give me a call or send me an email. The Silicon Garage Phone number is 510-507-2002 My email is SiliconGarage02@gmail.com

Mark is a good choice to carry on Curt's vision. He has a lot of experience in BMWs, and VW's as well. But we shouldn't hold that against him.

Mark told me the other day that he was working with the craftsmen to ensure that the quality stays top notch. He's had to make a couple of trips already and come back empty handed because the quality was not there.

Mark -

Glad to hear about you taking over for Curt. Mike Self's Roundel column was a great read and mentioned you would be offering the radiators again.

Please e-mail me using the button next to my name. I have a question for you regarding a new radiator for my tii.

I was really close to getting one of Curt's radiators, he promised I would be first when he was well. Unfortunately he passed. Now I have a 320i which works well. As needed we will be calling again.

God bless Curt and your business!

I wonder if these could be fitted with a temp sensor like the 320i radiator so you can you use an aux fan as needed.

Good to hear this radiator will continue.

Dougy Curt fitted mine with this for my s14 car and Mark said he could do it also the other day.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
