Camden Supercharger value??

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired a Camden supercharger setup from my uncle who has just passed away and wanted to know the value of it. It looks like pretty much everything is there for the SC kit along with a Weber carb, never used nos K&N filter setup for the weber, tii alternator bracket, and what looks to be a never used BMW m10 water pump.

The numbers on the Camden are: model # b-80 Serial # 85142

The part number of the bracket is: 11 14 1 257 413 and according to realoem is a 2002tii Sedan, M10, Manual alt. bracket

Cool! It would be worth a fair amount to some one willing to pay for it. Im guessing somewhere north of $1000.

Some one needs to reproduce this kit!! Please!!

Wow, that's an awesome find! My condolences to you and your family for the passing of your uncle.

Do you have the installation instructions for this kit? If so, would you please post them for posterity?

Are you willing and able to take some more detailed photos and measurements of the various parts? I'm personally not interested in (or capable of) producing a replica of this kit, but I am interested in gaining some insights into the port sizing and general layout of the manifolds between the head and supercharger, and between the supercharger and carburetor. My 24 Hours of LeMons team has a supercharger that we're thinking about mating to our 2002 tii, and the kit you've shown would be a great model on which we could base our design efforts. I suspect other folks here on the FAQ would be quite interested in learning about the setup as well, since there are quite a few members who are eager to investigate and/or implement any boost-related gizmo they can get their hands on.

Thank you for posting!

Sorry for your loss.

As to the supercharger. Go to the forced induction board on Roadfly(yes I know its a curse word) I would say $2000 on the low end and probably alot more. You might want a machinist to check the blower. End play etc.etc....Remember if the first guy takes your price you didnt ask enough....

Thanks for the reply, I can try to take some more detailed pictures, but that was the best my camera could get with the lighting. I saw on Camdens website a picture of a 2002 with the kit and it looked very compact with plenty of room in the bay. I looked all around and no instructions, but Im sure it wouldnt be at all hard to figure out.

The sc turns very smoothly and easily and doesnt seem to have any shaft play in it at all. I havent removed the tape on the openings but from what I can see it is very clean inside.

iv always wanted one- let me know when you figured out the selling price.

PM me a reasonable offer.... I would also love to hear an m10 at full tilt. Now only if I could find a m10 for cheap and build it and slap the Camden on it and swap it into my e30

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
