for a year, raised hell, ran track, other unmentionables, this is a family forum after all. Are you in the engineering classes, Dr. Seal left didn't he? Is there a new Viking Car?

I was in Mathes first year, Gamma for first quarter of second and now I am in appartments. Yeah, i'm in the VRI, Seal is still here, next year is his last though. They are working on a Low emisions vehicle on a grant from the government, going to be all carbon fiber body, all sorts of cool stuff. I'm just begining the program, in my second class, so I don't know much yet.

Do you know anything about the V8 the last formula SAE team made? Took two 250cc motorcycle heads and made the block, piston rods, crank, transmision. It was a stressed member of the chasis. Pretty damn cool. I don't know the status of the current car, havn't been to a meeting for a while.

It's from pre 73 or something, not sure on the exact year, but my car had the newer style and I had to get this one. It is rebuildable. Some said you would have to grind the carbs to get it to fit, but mine went on no prob.

I was just using that hose in the one pic temporarily. I never drove it like that. I bought the vacume hose from you though. You can see it on in another pic on the page though.

I actually talked to the guy for some time. He said "Do you want the real reason or do you want the bullshit reason??" I said, "Well, both." So, the bullshit reason is that if you split the coolant into streams you increase the surface area of the flow and by doing so increase the specific heat rejection...

The real reason is that he buys off-the-shelf sprint car radiators, and they have four fittings for coolant because that's just the way the engines have historicly been set up. So he just fabbed up a manifold to mate to that. Also noted that he was running out of places to plug in all the various sending units, and this made that work a lot better.

It's just a stunningly great looking car. He said "you know, if you win a race, everyone has forgotten about it 20 minutes later after the next guy wins the next race; but if you show up in a truely beautiful car, no one EVER forgets it". Clearly, count me in that group.

The "ti" manifolds are shorter than most by a few mm. (versus Cannon, etc) so there's precious little space between pump and back of leading carb.(also - it will depend on what 9if any) spacers or soft mounts you have between carb and intake) I use the same pump - works great, provides PLEEENTY of fuel pressure / volume for mine.
