Guest Anonymous
I have about 35k on a rebuild I did on engine, added 5 speed, and went through entire car. Anyway I drive 135 miles every day and during this time the engine's average oil consumption is 1 Qt a week. I have JE forged pistons with total seal rings (9.3:1) The compression is 150 PSI across all four. Has anyone else had similar oil usage experience with forged pistons. by the way the car runs very strong with a solex 1 barrel. I use 10/40 Wt
Guest Anonymous
They require a special different sunnen stone. Many people just finish a cylinder with a AN-301 stone. That's what gives it that nice cross hatch.. The total seals need a smoother finish of a AN-501 stone because of how they're made and you can even goto a cork stone if you have time. That is part of the reason total seals get a bad rep for not sealing or burning oil etc. Switch to 20w50 castrol and toss in a bottle of STP oil treatment and see if that helps. Check for leaks as well. Party On Kris
