I have 38/38's and they after going to a "Tech" session at BMW of Austin, their evaluation is that the CARB's gaskets are leaking so bad they need to be replaced (CARB overhaul) or just replace the CARB. I can atest that the cabin of the car after it sits for awhile smells of gas. The garage overnight smells of gas. I checked everywhere else possible and no leaks. These guys found it in less then 15 minutes. Rebuild or replace that is the question, if replace in the answer, what about jumping to 40's? Would that entail other modification to the car? What do you think?
