Thank you for your post.

I do have a question if you don't mind.

How far is the top of the lamp from the grille? I ask because there seems to be so much variation between cars, and of course, different lamps have different sizes.

Thanks.

Kind of tight! I have the lights tilted a bit so they don't touch the grills. I think there is about 1/4" clearance. Also note I have A/C, so your brackets are spaced a little farther out from the hood support than non-A/C cars.

I want to make sure i understand you correctly. You have a 1/4 inch clearance between the grille and the top of the lamp but your light is tilted down. Does the light need to tilt up more in order to give you the proper light pattern? If so, how much?

If you can not get the proper tilt for proper illumination due to interference with the grille, please let me know. I may have a solution for you. Thanks.

Was your car ever hit in the nose or had a nose panel replaced?

That was an early picture when I first tried to fit the driver's side light. The light was tilted down too much. Now the lights are pointed correctly but are still very close to the upper section of the grill. I was going to add a couple of washers between the light and your brackets but don't think they will be needed.

I recall you have a different set for Square tail light cars with the thicker plastic grills. These would most likely work better for those folks with larger (deeper) aux. lights.

The nose on my car was indeed replaced a long time ago (still no snorkle!).

The brackets are designed for the lamps to be close to the grille to provide a sleek look. On some cars, they are very close but I have yet to see someone tell me that they touch and still can't get them upright enough to provide proper illumination. But I keep asking to make sure.

Thank you for your feedback.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
