In the 5-speed section, y'all say to use a 323i throwout bearing. Which is right- if you have the earlier 228 mm clutch.

But if you're using the later, 215 clutch, then the standard 320i bit is needed.

Yeah, the 228 has a bit more swept area- but the donor 320 that I acquired had a NEW (like, still had writing on the friction surfaces) 215, so I figured I'd save the $150 now, for a bit more work later.

I have a receipt for a new 320 bearing PO purchased, but the car does have a 228mm flywheel. I know the car worked before the teardown, but unsure if this is going to be a problem down the road, or even if the correct bearing is in there already. If I could measure or something to know what I have, it would be a big help.
