Hi everyone, I've been looking for a nice e30 for some time now off and on and have found a promissing one... again. So I thought I saw someone on here had a carfax account and was wondering if you could run a check on VIN #WBAAB5404G9685483. Should be an '86 325es.

Thanks

One of the guys at a recent BMW CCA meeting mentioned that he recently got a completely clean (no wrecks, no damage, no insurance claims) Carfax report on a car (E-36 if I remember correctly) that he knew personally had been salvaged by an insurance company and reregistered on a salvage title. Don't remember if the damage was due to a collision or theft/stripped.

Probably worthwhile to get the report, but there's still no substitute for a close personal inspection, and maybe a shop inspection also if the $$ involved in the purchase are significant. Doesn't hurt to call your state's DMV registration hot line to verify that the title is clear and as-represented, either.

I'll still try to get a carfax, but true nothing is better than a close inspection, which I'll throughly do when I check it out. Thanks
