Progress! That is fantastic news on the exhaust. I have a big Stahl header I planned on using for my 2.4L stroker and it's good to know it should work.

Was that the Abarth exhaust on German EBay? I was following it and wondering if anyone in the States picked it up.

Looking forward to seeing this hot rod on the road!

Mike,

Sorry for the slow response...

Not sure I have this new website figured out. For some reason I am not getting updated whenever someone posts. Sorry for the delay. Not to mention I lost allot of my data recently!

In any case yes I saw the exhaust on ebay and contacted the seller. He had exhausts for my 2000Cs my 1800  and for 2002!

I finally received mine and it is absolutely beautiful. I first saw one on my 2000Ti I purchased from Neil M.

Some pics.

Moving along with the build. Its almost been three years!! Crazy how time flies. I know I got distracted with allot of things. buying more cars and setting up my own shop so we can do more things internally.

So more details. We installed the SS brake lines. Also decided to go with one piece bumpers; shortened, so the front doesn't stick out so much. We test fitted the parts and everything is ready to go to the chrome shop.

I am having the original low buckets reupholstered as well so we took apart the seats and will rechrome the hinge covers etc...

Mike,

I forgot to post. We test fitted the Abarth exhaust on the car. It fits perfect! The only thing I have to do is shorten the collector on my ALPINA snake header because they used a LONG collector tube on that. If you have a stock collector tube length it may fit perfectly with no modifications. Keep in mind that the Abarth exhaust is a 52MM exhaust. In my S14 2.5L NK I have a 2.5 inch (63.5mm) exhaust. Its LOUD. I want to go with more of a street car setup on my black car with a nice sound. Depending on your build please keep that in mind.

Thanks Mike. Thank you!

Amazing how many bits the interior takes to complete properly. I had the hardest time finding drivers side armrests in black that weren't broken. Now I have them in spades! Crazy

Hey guys I know it's been a four year build. Finding parts, developing the build plan, executing ideas... Changing my mind on a few items.

Well it's almost complete. she's going to the Dyno tomorrow for some final tuning.

I will post pics of the car and a video once it's driving. This should happen this week!! So very close!! I will be bringing it to the SoCal vintage meet in Van Nuys, CA on October 31!

I am pumped !!

Thanks for following!

More to follow!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
