Wheel bearing lube

Is it possible to add fresh grease to the wheel bearings while they are installed by using a grease injector needle? I know this is not the correct repacking procedure, but is it possible? Would it hurt? This assumes that the bearings are in good shape without play.

What about ball joints, tie rod ends, CV joints, and driveshaft center bearing?

Fronts are no problem to remove and repack, but rears are a pain in the ass. I've squirted grease into rear bearings as you describe, and I believe it helped things out. The old grease was looking rather stale.

There's not much you can do about the ball joints, etc.
