Engine removal

I was curious what is envolved in removing the engine and tranny from under the car rather then lifting out. I would like to avoid banging up my engine bay so it seems like the logical solution. Anyone done this before and have any tips??? Do I need anything other then a floor jack to jack the car up around the engine and crossmember thingy. Thanks for the help.

Yuo just need the clearance and equipment to lift the car. The whole drive train was lifted up into the car at the factory. G

a lot more work than pulling through the top. I dropped the enigine from my Tii unbolting the front sub frame and sliding it out and put it back in through the top. The car is hard to work on at the height necessary to slide it out from under for a little guy (I'm 5'10").
