To Solder or Not to Solder

OK, I MAY have gotten carried away with all the soldering work on Lola, but it is really easy and fun, but what is everyones opinion about doing the lower front facia?

I have done the back, about to do the rockers and the front top of the facia (since they are very thin joints but the lower are somewhat thicker)

I do like the clean lines in would present, and I will be attaching a lower spoiler to it.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Will try to post pics so far with what I have done.

errr, when you solder body panels, it's called 'leading'.

the 'lead' you use has a lower tin content- it melts at a

higer temp, but has a wider 'plastic' range.

As to the process- as long as there's no rust under it, it's as good as steel.

If there's rust anywhere under there, it's like filler- it'll pop the lead off eventually.

And if you like the smooth look- go for it.
