Guest Anonymous Posted April 8, 2003 Share Posted April 8, 2003 Assembly lube should be used on the cam lobes liberally. A light coat on wrist pins. The timing chain can be oiled with engine oil, but not a necessity. Coat cylinder walls with engine oil too, as well as any other moving parts that are normally oiled. Guest Anonymous Posted April 8, 2003 Share Posted April 8, 2003 The following areas... cam journals as well as lobes.. pistons should be prelubed with oil on instertion.. rod and main bearings.. some would go as far to say put a dab on the rockershafts where the rockers go... always spin the motor over with the plugs out untill it builds up oil pressure... and then put the plugs in and go for main engine start...
