It looks like too much crap to me to be just running rich or a timing issue.

In other words, looks like a head or headgasket issue.

Re-torque the head (carefully) and install new plugs for 100 miles, pull the plugs and check again.

What is your oil consumption like? Coolant consumption?

Cheers!

retorqued to 3rd stage settings this morning, no effect. Haven't been able to drive the damn thing long enough to determine oil/fluid consumption - post water pump replacement (yesterday). :/

I think it's safe to say head/gasket. I've got enough parts to knock out other projects until after Xmas, at which point I'll start looking at swallowing the expense of a head rebuild/replacement.

Figured I would ask on the plugs, just to be super duper sure. Thanks guys!

Keep an eye on the FAQ board for a motor. I have seen several low or almost zero mile motors being sold. Before you just do a head swap make sure that the motor has enough compression to be worth just the head swap. i say this because I did a head rebuild thinking it would fix my smoking motor issues but it did not. So I wasted the money on gaskets etc for no reason.
