Just got back from a 1,100 mile trip with my '76 2002 and everything worked great.....wonderful trip. The only thing that's a little weird is the temoerature gauge increases (gets hotter with the more electtical things I put on...lights, fog lights, rear defogger, radio, etc). The engine runs in the correct temp range, after sitting for a short while the rad cap can come off with no boiling over and the rad is full. It's just weird. Any suggestions or forget about it. The gauge has not gone passed the 3/4 range, so far.

The temp gauge can act as an ammeter if the body-to-engine ground strap isn't connecting well. If that doesn't fix it, you can add a ground wire to the back of the gauges. Check the archives for details. Glad the '02 treated you well!
