I like rescuing and piecing together old bikes when I'm not working on 2002s. Some of them actually run and can be ridden. :)

See if the link works....... only one bike isn't shown, the '73 CB350G I got yesterday. If not, go to www.chivinmoto.com, then to Subscriber's Garages, then to my garage.

except for a GSXR750 I had in the 90's. The Ducati

was made for the track. It has a Mike Green ported

head, giant megacycle cam (doesn't really idle),

35mm DelOrto pumper carb (pump removed for

vintage racing), Corillo con rod, 76mm bore, little

tiny aluminum flywheel, Akront wheels, Ceriani

Road Racer forks w/ Forking By Frank tubes,

electronic ignition, and comes in under 200lbs. Oh,

and spins 12500rpm. I built it in the late 80's, tuned

it, and then parked it in my living room where it has

been since.

How do you post multiple pix here?

Regards,

Ethan

Triumph family for bikes here, and trying to convince him into a BMW car. I am 19 and my vehicles are both older than me! Bikes rule, next to '02's of course.

I used to, I had a 76 R90, a 69 Sportster, 79 Electra Glide, 83 Wide Glide, 85 Kawasaki 454ltd. I used to work on vintage BMW's and Harley-Davidsons years ago. I since sold all, and now I am back on four wheels!

It's #46 too. I traded my old E28 for this bike to the friend of a FAQ-board regular about a year ago. The PO did all the mods except for the clip-on style bars I added.

Hey Jack, if you're reading this, how is Jeff? I noticed he moved to NC recently. Are you still in contact with him?

P.S. That Audi at that link is for sale if anyone knows of anyone who may be interested.

Jeff is fine, living in Franklin (right off of 20, great riding road), bought a house, has been working on American cars for work. He still has his Super Hawk and the e28 he got from you.

BTW: I got the recaro seat out of that e28 for FREE!!!! Put it in my 72tii.

You done that m20 conversion yet?

I've actually been buying parts since last fall and doing nothing with them. An entire brake system is in the garage waiting for me to install it. I still need to get the transmission so I can start fitting everything in and I need to get some stock mounts to start with the test fit of the engine itself. Instead of working on the car, I've been working on the house and the scooters mostly throughout the winter. I seem to work in cycles between the house, bikes and cars and now I'm all set to get back to work on the '02, but GRM just bought another magazine, so my spare time may become non-existant. I'll try to monitor my progress on here.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
