Pilot Bearing Help!!!

Hey everyone. I am having an issue with getting my crankshaft pilot bearing in the hole. I have looked on here and couldn't find any answers, so I thought that starting a new thread might help. I have a 72 2002 with the standard 2 liter motor, but when I try and tap in the bearing ( #11 21 1 468 742), it does not want to go it. Almost like it is too big. I am greasing the bearing, but it just doesn't want to go into its home.

So is there an easier way to do this? Or am I just doing this the wrong way? Wrong part?

Thanks!

JR
