I sold that car in Bend about 2 years ago. I am doing a m20 conversion on a 1974 2002. I bought both cars from the same person in Redmond, the one you have had no title when I got it. It was too nice to use just as a parts car so I found the last registered owner who had sold it 10 years earlier. He was happy to get it off his name so I got the title straightened out.

It was not running when I got it but I did get it running before I sold it.

My car is a shell right now but I have fitted everything in and removed it for paint. I am one of those that has ridden the slippery slope all the way to the bottom.

Meh, money only exists to be spent :)

Just wait until I convince you to do a 10:1 stroker with ITB's running MSII. Once you ride in the turbo you know you'll want it!

Well I bought the half started project hoping the guy would help me finish it like he said he would.

He flaked.

So now im just thinking what I want to do with the project. Put money into it and try to finish it. Or sell it and use the money for something else.

Yes Im using megasquirt and a stock diff. I wish I could use something else but there arent too many options whenit comes to stronger diffs.

FINISH IT!!! Even if it takes you a few years, it's going to be totally worth it.

Picked up the engine in Portland from a fellow with an e30 m3 replica with a s50 motor. Sweet car.

Motor fit perfectly in the back of the mazda-more horse power in the trunk than under the hood. Some how it gained weight on the way down to eugene and it took 4 of us to get it into my basement. Spilled oil all over the stairs and my buddies shoes, marine clean to the rescue. We also managed to set it down, briefly, in a dog pile in the back yard.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
