Holiday Gift Suggestions that are 2002 related

What is on your wish list for the holidays... need suggestions asap for wife and family?

I am thinking of a timing light, but could use other thoughts. Maybe a tool I might use more often or your favorite tool. Can be anything practical for the 2002 enthusiast. Doesn't have to be tools... could be cool memorabilia or parts?

Does BLUNT do gift cards?

Thanks,

Marc

Personally, I think a nice LED Taillight Conversion kit from 2002s.net would look stunning under the tree on Christmas morning.

And it's the gift that keeps on giving throughout the year - everytime you drive your car!

Cheers!

If you don't have one, my favorite tool, and most used tool in car and home, is a SnapOn ratcheting screwdriver. Used to be around $50, but I haven't priced 'em a while. Someone else has the same item at a better price, but I don't remember who. Maybe someone can chime in with that info.

Cheers,

My father has given me a case of oil every year for the last 10 years. He asks me what brand and grade (good ol' Castrol GTX 20W-50 the last few years).

ANYTHING from the Griot's Garage Catalog is worth asking for. My wife has surprised me with with many things over the years (oil filter wrenches, polishes, cleaners, etc). I've been a loyal customer of Griot's ever since they started out.

If you don't have one, a padded mechanics' creeper is always a good gift (Nick in Dallas just got one I believe).

GoPro HD Motorsports Hero camera. http://www.goprocamera.com/products/hd-motorsports-hero-camera.php

Just imagine: you can capture the sights and sounds of your 2002 driving experience to keep you motivated during the winter months, or while you're locked up in jail after getting caught with several hours of HD-quality video detailing your demonic automotive exploits.

For maximum realism in your viewing experience, I suggest watching from your driver's seat, with the video projected onto the wall of your garagemahal. Remember to leave the keys out of the ignition.

The HD Motorsports Hero is available for $235 delivered from a variety of sellers on eBay.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
