Narrow Door Sills NLA? Options?

I can't find a narrow one to compare with - probably tossed because they all end up with split ends over time.

Has anyone ever cut the wide ones to make narrow sills? I don't like the wide ones because of how they tend to collect dirt under them and to rub paint off of the bottom of the doors. (probably a sign of bad door alignment or worn hinges).

Maybe Mobile Tradition (or whatever they're called now) is planning on making them again?

Tom, I looked into this a few weeks back myself. I was hoping to come across the optional stainless sills, but had no luck. On Ebay I did come across universal stainless door sills that could be cut down in length to fit. That's something I plan to look into a bit more this winter.

With everything else involved in rebuilding my car, I like the simplicity of the original equipment that is a no-brainer to install. I would love to find some of the stainless sills, too, but I don't know if I could install them or not.

The narrow "sills" are could be called "sill-less", because they are more or less just something that is more robust than the gasket, that is a continuation of the door gasket at the bottom of the door. I will probably just cut the wide plastic sills I already have to see if they will work. But if the result isn't acceptable, they are $80+ each new!

The idea has entered my mind about modifying the aluminum pieces of an e24 that hold the door gaskets in place. I haven't spent any time in looking at whether or not this would actually work, so the universal kit may be more a realistic approach.
