Every 6-7000 miles.

That's what I do with a car that's driven hard and runs on LPG which is notoriously hard on valve seats.

The 6-7K I did drive on petrol with my original 1600 I adjusted the valves right when I got it (all were in spec) and checked it again just after switching to LPG, they were still the same.

If you don't trust it, check them twice in 2-3000 miles, if the clearance remains roughly the same in that period just use a 6000 mile interval.
