If you do, scrap the 320i wiring, but keep the dizzy. Go to the pick n pull. Find a Volvo 240, and pirate it's stand alone ignition system, including the ballast resisor, the wiring harness including the dizzy plug, and the black box mounted on the inner fender. Its very easy. Once you have the whole system, plug it into your 320i dizzy, and wire the harness. DONE. Piece of cake. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. I did it when I put a 1.8L into my 79 320i. Works great. I also gave this idea to Andy Rattley, and despite all his other problems, he did have a functioning ignition for a while.
