this diagram from the 320i repair manual (BMW's)

Max machining on friction surface .4 mm (0.016")

Min friction surface thickness 13.5 mm ( .531" ) 320i

Min friction surface thickness 14.5 mm ( .571" ) 320i 1.8 liter

i think Bill Williams came up with a figure

in a discussion way back - if you try "search"

another image from the 528 repair manual - same sheit as M10
