It feels like it is filled with a bunch of weirdo individual more than enough now. There is a limit to take everything personnal, especialy on a discussion board...

I survived deliberate personnal attacks from very unpolite persons.

I am now filled with very mixed feelings...

I even been asked to not reply to someone specific threads...now what, whats next...we will need to add a "pms not friendly" thread button next to the thread ???

a filter to not let some be able to reply to some threads ??

This is not serious at all, if theses persons could appologize, that would be a minimum imho.

you try to help someone, and he pees on you...wtf...

I think i lost enough time with that board...

This is not terribly constructive. I hardly know what we are talking about here. However, I promise to be polite to you and to everyone on the FAQ. Maybe everyone should take a solemn vow to be civil..... :)

It has been my personal experience too with yet another forum that my posts get hyper criticized as if I have insulted someone personally by expressing an opinion or just having a playful sarcastic banter.

Pat; all I can say is not to take it personally. Most of the negative replies are generally coming from folks who probably have/had very enabling parents. Their source of angst stems from a likeliness that they still look to an authority figure to blame for their inequities.

The views expressed are my opinions meant for amusement purposes only and are a direct result of the internet providing me a voice where as I would otherwise have none.

But what do I know

Pat I have had a few of those myself. And as thick skinned as I am it can just get hurtful and unnecessary. just remember for every ass like that there are plenty of us that are not that way. I have taken more than my share of hits from people on this board when I was more of a newbee asking basic questions. But it is not from the good folks here, just usually the ones with no profile, no email and most likely no 02 either

I'm not as dumb as I look

Sounds like we really do need the "sarcasm font" to be invented. So people know you're being sarcastic.

Where I work we've just started to put "sf" in our emails denoting that it should be read as if it was in sarcasm font.

Dear PatAllen,

An open letter to you and the others on this board. We all have opinions that we must share in order to make the infomation exchange as helpful as possible. While our contributions make us vulnerable to criticism it also makes this board a central space that we can share our collective knowledge. It would be my opinion that you are a valued contributor to this site and your continued interaction is both needed and wanted.

While I read the post that I think you are refering to in your post, I also know that many of us (myself included) are passionate about our cars and the knowledge we think we have. Toby is engaged in a discussion about heat and stresses in engines, Harry is discussing selling his Schwarz '02, hundreds of conversations are ongoing and we have the privilege to participate in whatever discussion we choose.

So my point is this, I appreciate your's and everyone's opinion, and while I may not always agree with what is written here there are always pieces of information that I find interesting, challenging, informative, and even wrong.

Thank you and evryone else here for you thoughts and knowledge,

Todd

there are couple on this board i won't respond to as they add nothing of value and are just trolls imho (listening JhC?)

further, they are just looking for an argument, not adding value, and some (listening JhC?) don't really know squat about 2002's anyways

ignore them

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
