1973 2002 tii - $3100

Up for sale is a 1973 BMW 2002tii. The rare tii is the only 2002 to have the Kugelfischer fuel injection system. This is not a stock car, so if that's what your looking for, read no further. The car looks pretty good from 15 to 20 feet away during the day. It does have some rust in a couple of spots, but it runs and drives well.

As far as it being a good daily driver and being reliable, I'd say yes as I have driven it to Petaluma and Novato quite a few times with no problems. I just got back from a trip to LA a few weeks ago, and the car ran without a hiccup on I-5.

Rust - well almost all these cars have rust someplace:

no rust around any of the shock towers, a tiny tiny bit of surface rust along the trim under the back quarter windows, also a little on the doglegs of the fenders, a couple of small spots about dime sized on the passenger side floor pan.

Reason for the salvage title is not known to me unfortunately, but I can tell that the front end from the radiator forward was replaced, and the rear panel had been dented in a little.

List of engine enhancements

Dr. Schrick 292 degree cam

Rennsport exhaust headers

pertronix 009 type electronic ignition

MSD 6A

Top End Performance K&N intake

Behr 320i radiator

320i 5 speed gearbox

has a strut brace installed (not sure about the origin/make of it)

thicker than stock sway bars front and rear

320i front vented disc & 320i rear drums

stainless steel brake lines

battery has been relocated to trunk (also, new battery just installed as of last week.)

E30 Sport wheels

I was recently in a small accident where I rear ended a car at about 5 miles an hour. The front end was pulled out and the radiator repaired, and there was no frame or structural damage of any kind. However, I simply did not have the money to have the front end professionally repaired to its previous condition, so it is noticeable that some damage has occurred, although it is not bad.

I am very firm on the price, so no low ballers. I will be more than happy to show it to anybody around the Santa Cruz, and can meet as far as San Jose or any comparable distance. My phone number is 415-233-2263, call me at anytime, and if I don't pick up then just leave a message. I check my email multiple times a day and am always near my phone.

The last few photos are after the accident, but the front bumper, which is not currently on the car, is not damaged.

Thanks for looking,

Tyler

Also, this is my first post, but I have been lurking on here for a while now. I'm much more active on Bimmerfest though.

It will likely need to be replaced. It was dented just a little on either side, which wasn't too bad, but unfortunately the hood also has some spots of rust underneath close to where the damage occurred. The rust might be repairable, as it does not look extensive at all, but it would probably be easier just to find a replacement used hood somewhere.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
