The tired old question, "How much is my car worth?&quot

But, I say it with reason, since I'm attempting to sell my 2002. I think I was thorough with my description, but questions and opinions are welcome. The 4k price is a bit of a feeler, as I would be happy if I got less...or more, even, haha!

Many thanks again to the FAQ community for helping me with this car; I've told a lot of people about how awesome people are on this board in comparison to any other car forum I've been on (speaking from Ford and VW experience). No egos, just straight talk and an eagerness to help.

On with it...

Wait is it running or did the ad say the motor went?

I think the motor went, but was replaced with a used one.

If engine is dead, then it is a $500 car at most. Even if a few high price 02s are emerging, there still remains 1000s of cheap and solid ones out there.

I don't think that anyone called the car "non solid". But there are nasty rust bubbles under the paint, meaning mucho $ and time. Basically, that car has not much to stand out above the crowd. The flat black engine bay respray doesn't help, nor the black paint in the trunk to cover what looks Inka.

BTW what happened to the rear bumper?

Sorry, I was posting from my phone. I realized afterward that I misquoted you...and please don't think I'm anything but curious about your and CD's opinion. But, I also don't think someone such as yourself is going to buy this car and fix every single problem/idiosyncrasy on it—the shaved trim and front nose automatically write off the car for a purest. I'm selling a mechanically sound Frankenstein of a 2002, haha.
