my weber 32/36 sync-link experience

i finally got the balls to have steve put the sync link on one of my bimmers...i run a 38/38 on my daily o2 so i put it on my carb'd e21....i experimented a bit by only installing the linkage and not the spray nozzle replacement to pump gas in both barrels....it was like a rocket when i hit the gas but at each shift or letting off the gas, then back on it, it had a flat spot

once your on the gas pedal, even without the dual squirter, it hauls azz...i fooled around with settings but couldn't get rid of the flat spot so we added the dual squirter...out of the package it performed far far better than any expectations i had...the car pulls like a 60's muscle car...this might very well be the 1st time this car has ever seen such high revs

a few adjustments to the idle & fuel air mixture and it runs super....i have no clue what jets are in this 32/36 but i got lucky considering other folks issues with the sync link

i never knew this much power and torque was in the 1.8, e21....having driven it for only 2 days now, i love it

you guys that have been having troubles, that know much much more than steve or i do about carb mechanics, may find you can tune it to perform great without the double squirter, just using the linkage to open both barrels

pierce manifold sync-link...$45.15

My willpower gave out and I ordered one today... Hope for the best!

i hope that you're lucky like i was....i can't explain things but for whatever reason, the car pulled harder, faster without the double squirter than it does with it installed...the response, once past the flat spot was awesome with just the linkage alone

good luck & have fun

that's a difficult question for me to respond to...i have a 38/38 on my 76 and 69 and they go balls out...the synk-link is on my e21, a different driving, handling car...but it now goes ball out too

allowing for the difference in the e21 and the o2, the synk-link, comes very close to, if not spot on to providing the same performance as my 38's

Thats good enough for me, i think i will be very happy with the 38/38 versus my 32/36. If not i can always buy the sync-link haha
