Nice Price or Crack Pipe: 1973/74 BMW 2002tii Convertible

that's a Euro tii VIN series, which would explain the chrome bumpers and square taillights. Further explanation of the "73/74" designation can be explained by the factory referring to the 74 cars as "modell 73".

That being said, it most assuredly started life as a sedan--there were no full tii convertibles built, and nothing but Targa open cars built after 1971. Note the sedan windshield and sedan-sized, opening vent windows. They were small and fixed on real convertibles.

I wonder if it's a re-engineered Targa, as the quarter windows are definitely from a 2002 Targa. A close interior examination would reveal the extra door sill reinforcement of the open cars. But the description indicates sagging at the doors, so it's probably a chopped sedan.

Given the described rust and the extra problems that would cause a convertible...ain't worth much, 'cause it's gonna break in half one day...
