spark plugs, wires, what else

I am getting some materials together to try and make the car run a bit better, since I don't know the history of the current parts. I have new spark plugs, wires, and plan to order:

Distributor Rotor, Ignition Points, Distributor Cap, Distributor O-Ring, Ignition Condenser

Is there anything I have excluded, or should add to the order?

and especially if your engine and dizzy have 125k or more miles, I'd check the point plate (the moveable plate that holds the points) for smooth action, check the vacuum advance to make sure it does move the point plate, check the dizzy shaft for wear (the bushings can be replaced), and finally with the point plate out, clean and lubricate the centrifugal weights so that they move smoothly. With distributors, the devil's in the details, because a small amount of wear can really affect distributor performance and consistency.

Also include an oil pressure switch.

We all knew that oil is another important fluid that ensures superb engine performance, so we need to regulate the oil flow and pressure in our vehicle so that all engine parts get the right amount of oil.

or go all- out and install a gauge. The light just tells you it's too late...

t

you're talking about an oil pressure gauge, right? Any pics of tastefully installed gauges on early cars?

issue with gauges in that location are that they are, well, just decorations. way below sight line and further hidden from view by your arm and possibly the shift knob. important gauges like oil pressure need to be as high as practical so you can see them while driving. mine is on top of the dash in a two gauge pod with the a/f ratio. next best location is on the dash shelf like alpina did. next best would be at the top of the center console stack where the useless ashtray is.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
