oil cap

hey everyone long time no see

i have a small problem my oil cap is leaking i tried putting a piece of cardboard inbetween the rubber seal and the cap but didnt work it leaks worste.

anyone got a good new seal?

or a new cap with a really good seal gaurentee no leakage??

new caps are now black plastic. When we were at vintage Georges Tii was leaking so he bough some sheet cork and cut a couple. took him twice to get the thickness correct but it worked well

I just got a NOS cap and it still frikkn leaks..

try cutting a new one out of inner tube rubber or the like. This works for the gas cap too.

I cut a piece of that cork, too, and it works to seal the oil cap leak - but I wonder it that allegedly heat-resistant material might not melt something of itself into the oil over the long term. I'm probably just paranoid.

Tonight I popped the rubber ring from the old one and stacked it in the new one and crammed it on.

We'll see..

i did get it resolved the bike tube trick is holding..

now to fix the intake manifold leak

bought a chromed cap from flea bay Germany. Will post image when it comes in - of the new bling. I really just want to stop the oil leak, and tried the inner tube fix, but it didn't last
