steering column and wires/ electronics on the column

Recommended Posts

The wiring inside the steering column is for the low/high beam switch, the turn signals, some wiper functions (depending on year), key-in-ignition buzzer (71 and later cars) and the horn. Igntion switch wiring isn't inside the column.

The main wiring difference between a carbed 02 and a tii is the electric fuel pump in the latter. It connects with the main wiring harness at a terminal under the dasboard just above the hood release handle. On carbed cars this is an unused, insulated spade terminal. It's wired into fuse 11 circuit (same as the instruments) on a 12 fuse roundie and (I think) fuse 12 on squarelights.

But that's all well away from the steering column.
