Barn Find

Recommended Posts

Well not exactly barn, more like "underground parking garage". The last time it saw the light of day was in 1998. I came across it after a fellow had posted it for sale on our local 02 message group. Some rust in the shock towers, both front fenders and surface rust under the doors but other than that pretty good.

After putting oil in cylinders overnight and pushing it in gear to free up the pistons, I put some fresh gas in, cleaned the plugs and she started right up. I put the wheels on it from my other project and drove it home.

The owner didn't want anything for it except a promise that it would be looked after and not parted out. It is Verona Red so I have named her Veronica.

What a deal!!! Congratulations.

I am reverting back to the OE late steel wheels of the first pic for originality. What size tires are in that photo? 185/70's? Thanks.

Anytime I miss an opportunity like this I always wonder if I will see the parts/car posted on ebay within a week with the price quadrupled.

Just another reason I love this forum, when an faqer scores a free car, at least I can take comfort that they appreciate it. Keep us posted on the progress, and congrats on the find!
