Center Bearing question.

Recommended Posts

Ok i have a 73. My car runs decent. It idles high. But I need to get it fine tuned, but im waiting to get the center bearing and a new to me but used exhaust(anyone got one,not stock) for my car fixed. Its warped. Does that make it knock when driving? Also what makes my car die so much when sitting at a red light or anywhere? If i dont keep giving it gas it wont stay on for long. Thanks in advance.

There are a few places the center muffler and rear muffler can hit if they are not alligned nice. I have to adjust my rear boy every now and then because it starts hitting the rear facia after doing too many burnouts.

Also check under the half shaft.

If the exhaust is hitting the half shaft you have to loosen and adjust where it connects to the down pipe.

If it is hitting the rear facia you can loosen and adjsut where the rear muffler attaches to the center resonator.

At least this is my experience over the years.
