Uninstalling LoJack question

Recommended Posts

Working through the shoddy wiring of stereo/autolocks/alarm and plan on taking out the old LoJack that the previous owner installed.

The LoJack system is one wallet-sized 12V battery, and a larger box that does all the thinking. The only wire that goes into the car wiring is a single wire heading up into the ignition (from the LoJack). No voltage is supplied on the wire from the car side, and about 10 mV is supplied on the wire from the LoJack. When that wire is disconnected, I can't start the car.

My question is- how tied into the ignition is this wire? If its just a simple relay that opens or closes the power line I'll dig in and take care of it. If its much more involved, I'll just leave the LoJack installed. Any Ideas?
