Rocker Trim Frustration

Recommended Posts

Are your rocker trims new? If so you may have to crimp them to get them to grip. If they are your old rocker mldgs you can epoxy the clips in the holes, or as a last resort if your holes are worn you can drill a new hole next to the old one and plug the old hole. I think the new clips are just not as good as the original ones. I used some nos clips that I had with a few of the new style. Any way you go they are kind of a pain!! Good luck!!

I understand your frustration. You have tried epoxy? JB weld will stick well if you get the hole clean. But not sure how well it will bond to the clips. Mabye it's time for a break, and go again tomorrow. I know the new hole option is not the most appealling but if you do that at least you can get a tight fit on the new clips. Good luck let us know !!

if the clips wont hold afer tapping them in due to enlarged holes, redrill some fresh ones. Worst case secure the trim with some SS screws. If that trim comes off while driving down the road it can really bugger things up if the front comes off first. Post some pics of your issues ! How bad did you bend it ? Tweak it back in to shape

if you are referring to the 904 clips, it is not your imagination. bmw changed the vendor, and this clip fits loose at best. the only way it is going to hold, is that you MUST have the front and rear t-bolts on, and good. then the 904 clips almost hold. if you cannot get the t-bolts to hold, you are sol, and the moulding can fall off fairly easily. i can also tell you also that screaming at the person/place you bought them from wont help.
