What can you tell me about euro 323 e21

I just bought a euro 323 e21 parts car. I noticed it has some nice rear control arms with disc brakes. What else is valuable to an 02 enthusiast on this car? Is the 5 speed and rear diff the same as any other e21? I also got a 320is parts car in the deal so it seems to be a major score. Dragging them home over the weekend.

5 speed is commonly used for S14 conversions, if I am not mistaken. LSD should be similar to 320s unit but I am not 100% sure. If the chassis is not rotted, I would keep it, very rare car. Also has M20 (smaller displacement) that can be used in a 2002.

you're mistaken I'm afraid - m20 has a different bellhousing pattern. Front hubs fit Tii legs for a the vented brake upgrade. Diff is the same case as any other e21. It should have a 3.45, but LSD wasn't standard just optional.

The 323 had options. It could be 4 or 5-speed, LSD or not.

If the car is solid it's worth money to E21 enthusiasts to preserve.

If not, all the Euro E21 parts are worth something to E21 fans. The subframe can be used to convert a US E21, and is valuable.

I thought the diffs in the six cylinders were beefier than in the 4 cyl cars, but I'd have to peek under my 320/6 to confirm that.

If the transmission is the "dogleg" 5-speed, it is a real score and worth more than everything else in the car. Bolts up to any M20 - close ratio and rare.

Rear disk setup can be peddled for bucks too. Euro bumpers are worth money if in good shape. If it has the 7" headlight grill that whole setup is desirable.

The 2.3 liter M20 can be used as a donor for part-swapping to build a hot M20 of bigger displacement. The head is desirable, and for some reason I seem to recall the crank is too.

definitely not - all use the same small case BMW diffs with varying ratios. 323 is the common LSD (when so equipped) to nick for an 02 on this side of the pond (at least is was until they all disappeared)

i do, but it's a getrag 265 from the m3 (among others). Bit heavier but a very strong transmission. Love it.

nice, Nick. did it take some getting used to?
