The ad says for cars 1986 and on. So no, it wont fit. BMW changed from a coarse spline to a fine spline in late 1984, I believe. I have 6 steering wheels in my garage from early 80's BMW's and they all fit my 2002.

The problem with the steering wheels I have is that they are from other BMWs. They fit, but on some of them the turn signal cancelation does not work. The horn wont work either without some work.

Everytime I go to the junkyard I grab steering wheels just to hang them in my garage! If your interested I'll sell you one cheap. My wife would thank you!

I have one like this, but the leather was removed.

And 2 like these. One fits great, the other doesnt.
