Electrical Gremlins - 1976 2002

Recommended Posts

I'm having some electrical issues on my 4spd 1976 2002

Here's what works:

1. Hi Beam (with the lever pulled in) Blue light displays on instrument panel)

2. Turn Signals

3. Cig. Lighter

4. Wipers

5. Horn

Here's what does NOT work:

1. Low Beams

2. Tail Lights

3. Instrument Lights

Uncertain on Brake Lamps - They were working, but now do not seem to be.

All fuses appear to be intact.

We did get some heavy rains in So. AZ, and I'm wondering if that could have caused the problem. I have made no changes to the car before the problems appeared suddenly.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Paul, I'm in Nogales, and have a ' 75 (my daily-driver for the past 28 yrs.) and my wife's daily-driver for the past 12 yrs. is a ' 76. I do all the work on both cars so feel to call me if you have questions. 520/287-5378.

I would re-check your fuses though. Rotate them a little and, if the problem persists, remove them from the holder and verify that each end is nice and intact as it should be.

The specific fuses you want to check are as follows:

Low Beam Left #9

Low Beam Right #10

Tail light Right and Instruments #8

Tail Light Left #7

Brake Lights #5

As an official rain guage recorder for the Santa Cruz County Flood Control Dept. I can tell you we've received 8.90" of rain in the past 20 days, most of it the last 10 days.

Thanks, Bob. I really appreciate it.

I know you guys got pounded down in Nogi the other night. Hopefully you all stayed dry!

I'll keep you posted.

Paul
