Interior possibilities

The interior of my just purchased 2002 will need done eventually, already spoke to a local guy that did work for us in the past, and it would be no problem to do in an original fashion. Last weekend at Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, we were parked in a line with a 1988-M3, with a Cardinal Red interior that was just georgeous. My wife, and myself are questioning, is this doable for our car? Would that model year seats fit? Any advice in this regard would be helpful, thanks.

I'm going the same route with my fjord, with the 6'er rear buckets. How did you resolve the gaps between the seat and the door panels? When I test fitted my rear buckets there were 2" gaps there on either side.
