Where is a good 02 mechanic in Dallas. TX?

Car was driving good after waking up from long storage. Gas in the tank is good. New tune up and oil change. Driving good ecept was idling a little high around 2.5k in neutral. After driving 50 miles random, it started to die at traffic lights and won't hold idle when unassisted. Tried unplugging the electric choke on weber 32/36 and now won't fire. Tries to crank but won't start.

Please suggest what I can look for or take it to a local 2002 mechanic.

Dude the best in the business in Dallas is Brad Fenn , over by whiterock lake...his number is 214-622-7319. he does work for a lot of us in the 02 club, in fact he attends many 02 events with us.

another 2002 person is bavarian motorsports, haltom city. 817 498 3477, john lauterbach, owner. there are several shops that go back to the 2002 days. mark bander, 972-241-2248, nine-eleven enterprises(214 241 2002), bimmer auto(972 701 9898)-owner marlon razack. these shops have moved on to the later cars, and also have diagnostic equipment to work on the later cars that need coding. but they all remember the 2002, and i think they all still own the cars. lauterbach's parking lot has several there in various states of repair.

I was in Dallas '85-'89 and his shop was busy doing gray-market conversions then. Also had many Alpina parts. I used to go over there just to drool! He & his crew helped with a PPI on a '76 '02 I ended up purchasing.

john and his 2 other partners started out as an alpina dealer, with service on the side. for those who remember him, phillip volk was his tech, who used to work for dietel enterprises in california. one of john's customers had 2 alpina cars, a 2002 and a bavaria

Yep,

I go over there for lunch on Friday and you alway see about 3 or 4 02s.

He even has a 2002ti car Italian turn signals etc....The customer use it as a daily driver.

Lot's of 02 stuff way back in the garage....Cool place
