Plastic fuel line

The plastic (white return line) fuel line in my 74 tii started leaking inside the trunk, a small crack appeared close to the rear bulk head area. Is there a replacement part available from local stores (Autozone etc) until I get the OE line from BMW Or, can I add a short line to the existing line using some brass couplers (probably not a long term solution and not very smart but I need car). TIA.

I'm taking the advice of someone else and using aluminum fuel line from Summit racing.

It's much easier to bend than stainless or Steel.

Assuming one were to go with the 5/16" aluminum fuel line from Summit, which adapter fitting would be necessary to attach the fuel line to the sender in the tank?

The blue return line doesn't harmonize with the Feng Shuei that I'm nurturing in my driving space, and it upsets the whole performance experience. It simply MUST go.

This duplicate posting is here to provide balance to the thread, and to offset any dark moods that might enter the discussion.

Thx for all the useful suggestions. I fixed it by using a longer BMW fuel hose, cut the plastic line from the end the crack, slide the longer hose, added two new GEmi fuel clamps, and she is good to go for another 10 years. Engine now works much better, smooth runner all the way to red line. It must have been the leak causing hesitation at higher rpms. Learned another lesson.

I thought the blue line was a emission vapor recovery line..right? But I wholeheartedly agree with ditching unused emission CRAP from your lean, mean driving machine;-)

However, removing blue line and the plastic canister may increase the gas smell inside the cabin.

Not if you do c.d.'s euro vapor line mod and vent the tank out the bottom of the trunk. Problem solved! And no more funky EPA mandated blue line.
