Clutch grabs high

I just installed my newly rebuilt engine along with a new IE lightened 215mm FW, new spring center racing disc and racing PP. The TO bearing, master and slave are also new. The clutch seems to grab very high. Any ideas?

Correct, I only have what seems like 1.5" of travel after the clutch starts to grab (just a guess, hard to measure). I do have free play in the pedal and can push the fork and slave cylinder in so I know the TO bearing is not pushing against the PP fingers when engaged. When I installed the PP, I did have about 1/4" that had to be pulled in with the bolts, which seems about right to me. The clutch seems to work fine and not slip, just seems like it should grab much lower. This is my first 02 so I don't know if this is normal and I just have to get used to it.

If it was air in the lines, the problem should be the opposite, travel would compress the air before releasing the clutch.

i have just recently noticed my clutch and brake pedals are not "even" distance from the firewall - clutch pedal is probably an inch or more further in than the brake. anyone know if that is normal? my clutch has been engaging too close to the floor. i didn't know that the linkage was adjustable. is it adjustable with the pedal box in the car, or do you have to remove it?

edit: just did a search, i'll look into the "turnbuckle" adjusting barrel/nut.
