Picked up a motor. Is it worth a rebuild for my project?

After looking at the head and cylinder identification thread,

http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,313512/start,0/postdays,0/postorder,asc/highlight,cylinder%2Bhead%2Bdifferences/

I have determined that I have a E21 block from 80-83. My goal is to build it up as a drop in for my 71.

My question is this...

Being a 1.8, and having a lighter crank, is this an appropriate motor for a build?

Ultimately i would like to build a FI turbo motor, but right now a higher compression NA motor is more affordable. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'd find a different one.

You can use the rods, but we're pretty sure

that short- stroke crank is cast, not forged.

THe rods and block should be ok-

and you could use the head if you had pistons made for it.

Ok, what I'm saying is, find a different crank!
