Hmmm. I don't see much information. And it says "retrofit kit". So you probably get a compressor, mounting bracket, maybe a modern cross flow condenser, drier and a cooling fan? What about a console, evaporator, evaporator box with ducting and a blower, and all the hoses, switches, relays, wiring harness etc. etc. etc.

I'm curious as to what's included if anyone cares to pursue it.

That is VERY expensive...I bought a setup with console and condensor for less than 100...just need a new compressor and lines...probably less than 300 total...so for less than 750, you can add it to pretty much any 02 with a factory look....Unless they are selling EVERYTHING needed in a kit including a console then its a bit much. If they are selling everything you are paying a premium for not having to buy all the stuff separately...

Agree with comment above, way to pricey. I bought new sanden & parallel flow condensor, new lines with fittings made by local Auto air place. It was probably about 650 or so. I already had the center console. & compressor bracket, but I bought an adapter bracket for the Sanden.

You can buy a good used center console for $ 100 or so, piecing the other stuff together is not hard. The AC shop guys know what fittings you need for the lines. Fan up front is optional, but definitely helps, especially in stop/go traffic.

If anybody can turn me on to a Clardy console for $100, I'm all over it. Anyone? Bueller?

that's a clardy unit. they used to be out of fort worth, texas. they made a few units for bmw, we installed one in a euro E24, and another in a euro E23. i put one in one of my old 73 2002, a way long time ago. great units, cools way better than the behr units. rotary compressor, the kit was very complete. locally here(i'm in texas), the kits were quite popular.

Check this one out. The fan unit bolts in in place of the glove box and blows into the dash shelf via a hole that was cut.. into a cavity created by the pictured vent piece.. !!?!? The larger piece covers the fan unit and replicates a glove box.

I pulled this from a 71.

..I just realized that maybe I could use the fan unit as a trunk mounted AC system?!

2002 newbie, and dead serious about it.

That's quite the find, Jason! First time I see one of those in over 30 years of messing around with these cars. Wonder how it looks installed?
