German Vinyl

Anyone have the German vinyl Aardvark Recaros? I'm not sure which covering to go with. I know that I want stippled center panels and I don't want leather. Recommendations? Thanks!

I solved the problem of "what Recaro covering to use" by sending Dave the materials that I purchased. He'll tell you how many yards you need, or he will send you samples of his stock. BTW the job was first class. Good luck.

Thanks, Roger. I've been discussing the options with Dave. I'm leaning toward the black German vinyl with stippled center panels. I have access to any material, but trust that his material will be fine. I just don't know the difference, other than the "feel", between German and domestic vinyl.

Yep, have a set of Dave's seats in the panel truck at the present time Super nice! Every set of Dave's seats I have ever seen are really nice

Also have two sets of seats (belong to friends) in the house done in German vinyl locally and it feels like very supple leather (of course that is just my opinion)

I bought a set from him 2 months back and couldn't be happier. I think he only got German Vinyl and leather available. Get the stippled center for sure. I got the blue set, but I am sure the black is just as awesome.

Install was a breeze too.

How many yards does it take to do two recaros?

I want to find some recaros and attempt to to recover them in either light grey or maroon marine vinyl for my future car with no top.

If the material is still 54" wide, it would take about 2 to 2-1/2 yards of smooth vinyl to do the bolsters (with the back of the upper seat) and probably 1 yard to do the center sections with the textured. The sides of the center sections can be done in smooth vinyl. The folks at World know about Recaro seats and can tell you exactly how much it takes.
