OEM alternator bushing

Recommended Posts

I need the OEM bushing for a tii alternator. I got some from IMC but they are too large.

The flange on the one I received is 30mm and needs to be 27mm.

The sleeve is 24mm and needs to be 21mm

Any ideas or a source for the OEM bushings?

Steve is looking for me but so far he is stumped too.

Thanks fellows

No luck with Pelican, still need help.

Oh my gosh, as a previous post indicated, the monkey poo that bushing turn into is the stickiest, nastiest stuff I have ever encounter. The only thing I found to remove it was a universal paint gun cleaner. My hands will be black for weeks, even had gloves on.

Now to find the OEM bushes, I have some 528 bushes that I may have to have milled down. Oh well, always something

Looks like the correct original white/yellow plastic tii bushings are NLA, superceded by the black rubbery/gooey ones that came on every other BMW alternator. P/Ns 12 31 1 268 433 and 12 31 1 268 435.

A much better alternative, especially for the tii alternator, are the Delrin bushings from AKG.

Some slight filing/sanding might be needed for a perfect fit, but these are much harder/longer lasting than the rubber bushings.

Bird, I just called them and asked for tii alternator bushings and the gent said they had no separate alternator parts. Do you have a part number or link? Yes my measurements are for diameter

Jim, those bushes are original, only about five things, tires counting as one, that have been replaced on the car I was working on. 47,000 miles

I just put 2 and 2 together on your two posts. Thanks for the clarification.

Bill--That is again, very strange, because I called them to order some poly bushings for my alternator upgrade project about a month ago. I needed to verify that their listing for bushings was for the tii alternator and not the regular variety (which was what I was told).

Try this url:

I thought 447 and 449 would work for you--BTW their pricing is usually better than BavAuto. Good luck--Jim
