Lowes outdoor carpet

Remember I said there was outdoor carpet at Lowes that looked like OE 2002 carpet?

Well, I saw it there the other day and snapped a few pictures of it.

What do you think?

I covered my rear after removing the seats and I like it. It's not expensive

my only thoughts is that its going to be tough to fit it unless you're good at sewing because oe carpet is molded to fit.

That kind of carpet doesn't need any sewing, just cut all the 14 pieces and glue. Molded carpets only came in 74+ model cars, early carpets were cut and sewn if I remember correctly.

ah, that would make sense, i have a 74 and i tried redoing the carpet myself and gave up

Nice! I think this carpet can be used to cover the trunk panels and surrounding area as well, I will give a shot.

I'm sure someone with sewing skills, like Esty could make a nice kit out of this stuff. However there may be better stuff available elsewhere.

If I were going to give it a shot I'd start with this stuff.

i originally used the exact same carpeting (only i got it at home depot) for the rear seat delete in my e21...i tried binding it but the way i bind the carpeting it was a bit too thin for me to bind...the edges tend to curl upwards or cup and pucker slightly when it's bound

i just folded it over the edges of the boards like thad did his

home depot sells it in grey, tan and burgundy... a 6x8 rug is $19.00...enough to do a rear seat delete or a trunk...

if you don't care about lack of binding...it's an indoor/outdoor carpet...made to get wet...it's very pliable so it would be easy to glue...
