Window regulator question

Recommended Posts

The rollers on my window regulator are worn out and do not always contact the guides. This makes both windows pretty hard to roll up and down in certain spots - especially at the half-way point going up.

Since the complete regulators sound like they are a royal pain to R&R and mine work fine except for the rollers, are just the rollers available?

To R & R the regulator itself is no big deal. 75% of the job is R & R the door panel. I've done both of mine recently and it's a lot easier than a lot of stuff on our cars. Just my 2¢ worth.

Thanks Bob. I've R&R'd the door panels twice (door brakes and upper fuzzy weatherstrip). The search for regulators and some of the little guides is on. I'll start to review the parts catalogs.

hardware store and look in the display for replacement glide wheels for sliding patio doors/screens, and sliding windows as used on houses. I'll bet you can find a nylon wheel/axle assembly that will work. Critical dimensions are wheel diameter and width, and necessity for it to be on an axle that fastens only on one side.

Check it out.
