Heater Box Rebuild Help

Recommended Posts

Dear forum members,

I have a quick question regarding my heater box rebuild. I have everything back together and I am trying to re attach the cable that attaches to the heater valve. Here's the confusing part: when you move the cable to the warm position the valve closes, and when you pull it in towards cold, the valve opens. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Does that make sense? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Brian, do you have the heater valve oriented correctly? THat is the only thing I can think of that would bring about your symptoms. The arrow on the heater valve points to the cables or the passenger compartment.

Moving the lever to the right, on a three lever car, should move the heater valve to full open.
